The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is launching its first fundraising campaign, offering its supporters the opportunity to have their name, or that of a loved one, inscribed on the glass doors of the new IARC headquarters building. The Nouveau Centre building, in the Gerland district of Lyon, will open at the end of 2022.
New building Join the circle of IARC donors Together, let’s save millions of livesTogether, let’s save millions of lives
Becoming an International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) donor means participating directly in the global fight against cancer. Your precious donations enable us to carry out research on prevention for everyone; this is at the heart of our actions. Prevention could save 7 million lives around the world in the next 10 years.
In 2022, we will move to an ultra-modern building in Lyon’s Biodistrict to carry out high-quality research. Numerous partners have already pledged their support (just more than 55 million euros), but we still need to raise almost 10 million euros for fitting out the building and thus becoming the nerve centre for research on cancer prevention.
Today, we are appealing to your humanity and your generosity.
Together, Let’s write the history of the Nouveau Centre building

Businesses: stakeholders involved in the global fight against cancer
The Nouveau Centre project will give concrete form to our vision of Open Science. We will create a “haven of peace” for researchers from around the world to enable them to work together and establish new collaborations. IARC will be an accelerator of scientific discovery to reduce cancer incidence and prevent all types of cancer worldwide. For this to happen, we are looking for partners who are open to making the following equipment available to us:
IT and audiovisual equipment for the conference rooms
Furniture for the common spaces and spaces open to the public
