The Sixty-First Session of the Scientific Council of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is taking place on 12–14 February 2025. This session of the Scientific Council is being held remotely via web conference.
During the meeting, the Scientific Council will discuss the scientific reviews of the Epigenomics and Mechanisms Branch (EGM) and the Early Detection, Prevention, and Infections Branch (EPR), review the Evaluation Report of the IARC Medium-Term Strategy for 2021–2025, and propose recommendations if areas for improvement are identified.
This session of the Scientific Council is chaired by Dr Luis Felipe Ribeiro Pinto of Brazil.
Sessions of the Scientific Council are now being held as in-person and remote events in alternate years. Scientific reviews of IARC research Branches are being held fully remotely until further notice.
