IARC launches Center of Excellence for Monitoring HPV Vaccination Impact (CHRONOS)

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) today launches the Center of Excellence for Monitoring HPV Vaccination Impact (CHRONOS), the first global repository of standardized human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine impact data in low- and middle-income countries. CHRONOS supports the World Health Organization (WHO) Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative by providing critical data to inform context-specific cervical cancer control policies. The project also includes a knowledge transfer component designed to help countries develop, adapt, and implement HPV vaccine impact surveys.

Earlier this month, 25 participants from Bangladesh, Eswatini, and Indonesia joined the first CHRONOS online training session. This hybrid training model combines three core components: self-paced online modules supported by guided live sessions, an intensive in-person workshop designed to reinforce learning and practical skills, and an optional third phase offering targeted follow-up support during fieldwork implementation.
